Shahid Kapoor, who is currently acting with Rani Mukherji in an untitled Yash Raj project, will soon be seen in yet another film with the actress. If all goes well the film in question will be directed by Priyadarshan.

Sources reveal that, “While Shahid worked with Priyan in Chup Chup Ke, there were reports of indifference between the filmmaker and the actor”. The film flopped and they never worked together again. But it now appears they have sorted out their differences and are discussing the possibility of coming together for yet another movie soon.

The film is said to be a thriller with umpteen number of twists and turns. It is very different from anything that Priyan has done before. Shahid’s character will have shades of grey. He double crosses everyone including his lady love in the film. The shooting of the film is said to start by early next year.

Simply post your caricatures for other surfers to see. You can also send in your caricatures to local magazines, and tell them they can use it without a fee. Mani had, in the past, adapted Mahabharatha in Thalapathy. Other directors have also adapted Ramayana earlier. For instance, Vishal’s hit debut movie Chellamae, with Bharath and Reema Sen, being one of them.

Aishwarya Rai is supposed to play Seetha. Prithiviraj and Priyamani are also said to play important roles in this multi-starrer.

Darsheel Safary, the child actor who shot to fame with his debut film Taare Zameen Par, has been busy signing endorsements. But there has been no news of him signing any film. And now, Percept Pictures has signed him to star in the remake of the Iranian film Children of Heaven.

“For us, Children of Heaven has created history all over. A possible adaptation of that for the Indian audience is fantastic. Imagine Eiffel Tower coming to Flora Fountain. It’s not a bad idea,” Joint MD, Percept Ltd, Shailendra Singh, says.

Children of Heaven, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Majid Majidi, was the first Iranian film to be nominated for an Acadmey Award for Best Foreign film.

Donning the director’s hat for the Indian remake is filmmaker Priyadarshan.

“We spent the last one year trying to find the director and the source. We recently bought the remake rights and it’s going on floor sometime in mid-September. We have a great cast and a great idea, and again, the same space of catering to Indian traditional family entertainment,” Shailendra says.

Its common knowledge that the trade and distributors alike are extremely excited about Vipul Shah’s SINGH IS KINNG and the film has fetched record prices in almost all the major territories. The reasons are obvious. This is Vipul’s fourth film after a hat trick of successes namely, AANKHEN, WAQT- RACE AGAINST TIME and NAMASTEY LONDON. The film is being directed by Anees Baazmee, who has given super-hit movies like NO ENTRY and WELCOME. And to top it all, it once again has Akshay Kumar, who has been the lucky mascot in all of Vipul’s films.

However, apart from the trade and distributors there is one person (who is not even remotely connected with the movie) who has shown supreme confidence in the project, even before a single shot of the film had been canned. Can you guess who? Surprise, surprise, it is Salman Khan. Yes, it was Salman who had told Katrina to sign SINGH IS KINNG, as he was positive that the film would turn out to be a hit. This fact was recently revealed by none other than Katrina Kaif herself in her latest interview.

Well, isn’t it surprising considering how the media has portrayed the so-called rivalry between Akki and Sallu and kept them at logger-heads by constantly fabricating stories about Akshay and Katrina. Hopefully this news will shut them up for a while!
